Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women is a nonprofit, charitable organization that has been meeting the growing needs of its culturally diverse community for fifteen years, empowering newcomer women and their families to become participating members of Canadian society. Elspeth Heyworth Centre maintains strong relationship and program consistency with Shoreham Building, Oakdale Community Centre, Driftwood Community Centre and Vellore Village Community Centre.
Elspeth Heyworth Centre offers a variety of programs and services that assist immigrant/refugee women to adjust, adapt and integrate into the community. These include:
Settlement Assistance, Employment Counseling, Abuse Crisis Services, After-School Programs for Children, Cultural Festivals & Events, Group Sessions & Workshops, Health Related Programs, Interpretation & Translation, Job Fairs, Recreational & Relaxation Programs for Seniors, Referrals, Self-Employment Training, Student Placement & Volunteer Opportunities, Support Groups for Women and Volunteer Services.
